75th Celebration

The 75th year-long anniversary was anchored by three main events, with various touchstones of commemoration and celebration occurring from December 2009 through November 2010. It focused on honoring the past, recommitting to the present, and planning and dreaming for the future.

We began our celebration of our milestone anniversary at our December 2010 Hanukkah Celebration and 75th Kick-off. The other two anchoring events included a Spring Gala on Sunday night, May 2, 2010 and a special Rabbi Samuel Chiel Kallah on November 6, 2010.

Watch and listen to Voices of Temple Emanuel, a series of interviews with our members about how Temple Emanuel has touched their lives.

Listen to a song composed by our own Jeremiah Klarman in celebration of Temple Emanuel's 75th Anniversary. It is entitled Kol Haamim and is based on Psalm 47.

Many people shared memorabilia - and memories - of the Temple from years past. These items are now in our Archive adjacent to the Rabbi Marshall R. Lifson Library on the lower level where we hope to continue to connect past to present through the generations.

For more information on the Archive, please contact Molly Goodman. To add your memories to Temple Emanuel Voices contact Michael Benjamin.

Many thanks to the 75th Anniversary Celebration committee chairs Mady and Bruce Donoff and Sherry and Ned Holstein and to all the dedicated, talented and hardworking volunteers for making our year-long celebration such a wonderful success!
