A look at the Israel high-tech economy through the lens of the Israeli University system

with Joel Berkowitz
New England Regional Director of the American Technion Society

With a specific focus on Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, Joel will review some of the past history that led to Israel's achievements and discuss some of the current opportunities and challenges the universities are facing.

Joel is a volunteer with Combined Jewish Philanthropies, Boston Jewish Community Centers, National United Jewish Appeal, National Jewish Community Center movements and National Hillel. He is an active board member with UMass Hillel and serves as an Honorary Trustee on Temple Emanuel's Board.

In August of 1993 he became the New England Regional Director of the American Technion Society has been in this position for almost 19 years.

Joel has been married to Mozelle for 42 years, has two daughters, Alisa and Dasee and is the proud grandparent of Matan, Lev, Sivan, Tamir and Yael.
