We defend on half of the hands. Some players are unexcited about defending, but actually good defense requires more skill and imagination than good declarer play, and as much partnership cooperation as good bidding. Learn to be a skillful defender!
This class will cover the rudiments of good defense: opening leads, 2nd hand and 3rd hand play, defensive signals, communication, giving and getting ruffs, when to hold up, etc. It will assume some knowledge of basic declarer play technique, but should be accessible to anyone who plays bridge (social or duplicate) regularly or who has taken a couple of bridge classes.
To sign up for this course:
Show up to class with a check for the appropriate amount made out to "David Metcalf"
