A Little Introduction to the Shabbat Chapel Minyan
The Emanuel Shabbat Chapel Minyan, started in 1989/5749, is a traditional Shabbat morning service led by congregants.
All are invited to attend these services. Parents are encouraged to bring their children. The Shabbat Chapel Minyan includes longtime Emanuel members and newcomers, women and men, children and elders, people who want to learn new davening skills and people who just enjoy being in a cozy setting, people with limited Hebrew skills and expert daveners.
The minyan holds occasional potluck Friday night dinners in the homes of members. At these we do kabbalat Shabbat, eat, bentsh, sing zemirot, and enjoy ourselves. We sometimes get together on holidays, such as during Sukkot or on Tu B'Shevat.
No reservation is needed to join the minyan for Shabbat morning services. Just stop by and take any open seat.
