No School Policy - Nursery School

NO SCHOOL POLICY

IN THE EVENT THAT THE NURSERY SCHOOL HAS TO BE CANCELED OR DELAYED, PLEASE FOLLOW THE PROCEDURES LISTED BELOW:

1.     MORNING SESSION

If the Newton Public Schools are CLOSED, there will be NO SCHOOL at the Nursery School. 

If the Newton Public Schools are DELAYED for 1 (one) or 2 (two) hours, the Nursery School will begin at 10:00 am and there will be no early drop-off. 

PUBLIC SCHOOL INFORMATION WILL BE BROADCAST ON TV AND RADIO BETWEEN 6:30 AM AND 8 AM.

2.    EXTENDED DAY SESSION

On a day when school is in session, it may be necessary to cancel Lunch Bunch/Extended Day.  If the weather changes and driving conditions become treacherous, and you are concerned that the afternoon program may be cancelled, you should call the nursery school office, 617-558-8130, between 11:00 AM and 11:30 AM.  When Lunch Bunch/Extended Day is cancelled, the children have to be picked up by NOON.  If you are unable to pick up your child or we are unable to reach you, we will call the people you have listed on the Emergency Release Form.  We will put a message on your answering machine as to who is picking up your child.  Please be sure that you have listed the names of the people you want to be called on the Emergency Release Form.

IF FOR ANY REASON, NURSERY SCHOOL HAS TO BE CANCELED DUE TO A PROBLEM IN THE BUILDING OR AN UNFORESEEN PROBLEM, ETC., YOU WILL BE NOTIFIED.
