Our Philososphy

Our Philosopy

Temple Emanuel Nursery School provides a loving supportive environment in which each child learns and grows. A carefully balanced program is provided with the curriculum centering around the needs, interests and abilities of children ages 2 through 5. Each child experiences the Jewish holidays, Shabbat, music, science, cooking, dramatics, storytime, outdoor activities, play and field trips. The group nature of these activities is oriented towards helping the child develop social and interpersonal skills. The classroom becomes the center in which the children learn about themselves and the world around them.

Our Objectives
Our objectives are to:

  • foster a positive self-image
  • encourage independence and self-direction
  • enhance creativity
  • encourage curiosity and a desire to discover
  • refine physical skills
  • develop communication and socialization skills

Our staff is sensitive to the individual strengths and needs of each child and works toward these objectives by providing an atmosphere for children where they are encouraged to freely observe, question and discover -- a climate in which each child may develop autonomy and a positive self-image and where what he/she does has value and significance.

Family participation is an integral part of our school program. Parents are encouraged to share in their child's classroom and school activities. The PTA offers families a way to meet one another and participate in the planning of the programs. We invite parents to become partners with us in providing their children with a wholesome, enriching, and enjoyable experience at Temple Emanuel Nursery School.
