“Artful Afternoons” is an interactive art appreciation and art making program for active older adults, with a new theme each time! Held on Thursday afternoons, this program offers storytelling, film, visual arts, music and more to stimulate the mind and soul.

Artist Appreciation Workshop: Georgia O’Keeffe
Georgia O’Keeffe was an artist who found inspiration from her close observation of the beautiful colors and shapes found in nature. Visual art teacher and painter Donna Calleja will share details of O’Keeffe’s life, thoughts about her art and examples of her drawings and paintings. Following the presentation, we will create O’Keeffe inspired drawings of natural objects.
MATERIALS: White paper (3-4 sheets), pencil or colored pencils, scissors, one or two natural objects such as shells or leaves.
