Judy Heumann is an internationally recognized leader in the disability rights community and has done work for the United States and other governments as well as the World Bank and the Ford Foundation.

Crip Camp, produced by Barack and Michelle Obama, is about Judy Heumann’s and others’ efforts to pass the Americans with Disabilities Act, and features Camp Jened, a summer camp for people with disabilities. Judy ‘s inspiring book, Being Heumann, demonstrates the way a group of campers and many other people with disabilities worked to change federal law.
