Contribute to Temple Emanuel’s Yad Chessed Purim Appeal!
Temple Emanuel is again conducting its annual Matanot la’evyonim (Gifts to the Poor) Purim appeal. Your contribution directly helps local Jews in need.
During both megillah readings here at Temple Emanuel on March 9 & 10 we will FULFILL THE PURIM MITZVAH OF MATANOT L’EVYONIM– the giving gifts to the poor on PURIM. You may bring a check or cash contribution to our Megillah reading on Monday night, March 9 or Tuesday morning, March 10 to make a donation to YAD CHESSED!
What is Yad Chessed?
Yad Chesed is a tzedakah collective that distributes gift certificates to local Jews in need to use on
Purim day to buy food and other essentials. Learn more about Yad Chessed …
What is Matanot L’evyonim?
This is a special mitzvah of giving a gift of tzedakah to at least two needy people on Purim day.
We fulfill this Purim mitzvah at Temple Emanuel by collecting tzedakah during our megillah reading services and giving the monies collected to YAD CHESSED.
You may also donate online before Purim. Go to Yad Chessed, click on “Donate Now” and specify Temple Emanuel’s name in the dedication field.
