Hartman Video Lecture Series (VLS)

Together and Apart: The Future of Jewish Peoplehood

Sundays mornings | 10 – 11:30 am
Jan 12, Feb 9, Mar 8, Apr 5 and May 31

Study with Rabbi Gardenswartz and Hartman Institute Scholars in a Video Lecture Series

This lecture series is part of Hartman’s iEngage project that creates a new narrative regarding the significance of Israel for Jewish life. This narrative serves as a foundation for a new covenant between Israel and world Jewry, elevating the existing discourse from a crisis-based focus to one rooted in Jewish values and ideas.

The pressing issue of Peoplehood is the central topic of the Shalom Hartman Institute’s fifth iEngage video course dealing with the significance of Israel for Jewish life. This new course explores how we tell stories of Jewish belonging. It addresses the difficulties of understanding “Peoplehood” in an era when we have moved from a reality of no home, to a reality of two homes: an established nation-state for the Jews and a diaspora that includes the diverse and powerful North American community.

This is not a continuation of prior years. New learners are most welcome!
