Ailene Gerhardt is an Independent Board Certified Patient Advocate (BCPA) and founder of Beacon Patient Solutions LLC. She works with individual clients in need of assistance navigating the complexities of the healthcare system. Ailene’s mother became gravely ill. She experienced first-hand how draining and challenging navigating the intricacies of the health care system can be while actively supporting a loved one experiencing a healthcare crisis. The experience as her family member’s primary health advocate led Ailene to a career change and her calling as a private patient advocate. Ailene completed her Professional Certificate in Consumer Health Advocacy at the University of Wisconsin’s Center for Patient Partnerships in August 2017, founded Beacon Patient Solutions LLC in February 2018, and earned her Board Certified Patient Advocate (BCPA) credential in April 2018.

Co-presented by the TE Adult Education Dept, Newton Senior center, Temple Emanuel Senior Fund and series proudly sponsored by Benchmark, Adelaide of Newton Center, The Falls at Cordingly Dam, Evans Park at Newton Corner, Chestnut Park at Cleveland Circle, and Cabot Park Village at Newton.
