Sisterhood Sponsored Shabbat

Guest speaker, Doctor Julie Leavitt, will lead us in embodied prayer and meditation. Julie works at the Rabbinical School of Hebrew College practicing spiritual direction, and teaches Dance Movement Therapy at Lesley University. We look forward to seeing you for a spiritually moving and creative morning of prayer together.

Julie Leavitt, Dmin, BC-DMT, LMCH, is a body-centered psychotherapist and spiritual director, dance-movement therapist, and modern dancer. She has taught for 30 years at Lesley University and also, practices spiritual direction at Hebrew College. She has a Doctorate of Ministry from the Graduate Theological Foundation, where she earned the Samuel Cohen prize for her dissertation, G!d Danced the Day You Were Born. Her writing has been published in books and various magazines. Most recently, her article, Choreography of Prayer was published in the book, Seeking Redemption in an Unredeemed World, ed. by Rabbi Avruhm Addison. Julie teaches Dance as a Spiritual Practice in workshops across the US.
