Daf Yomi with Dr. Jesse Hefter

Sunday Evenings, 7:45 – 9:15 pm
10 sessions: Feb 25, Mar 4, 11, 18, 25, Apr 8, 22, 29, May 6 and 13

Come join us at Temple Emanuel as we continue to explore a cornerstone of our Jewish heritage – the Talmud. Each week, tens of thousands of Jews around the world study the same page of the Talmud each day (Daf Yomi) – an adventure taking over seven and a half years to complete.

This weekly Talmud class explores the world’s Daily Page of Talmud covering topics related to borrowing and lending objects and animals between people, hiring workers, acquiring property, and neighborly relations. As always, the Talmudic material often intertwines non-legal narratives about Jewish culture, spirituality, and philosophy. What each week will provide is an exciting window into Jewish life and Jewish time.

The class is led by Dr. Jesse Hefter of Brookline who has been teaching this Daf Yomi class for many years in partnership with the Synagogue Council of Massachusetts.

No prior Talmud experience or knowledge of Hebrew is required.

Course fee: $100 for 10 sessions. Reserve your space by  January 31, 2018.
