We live in uncertain times. Join us as we explore teachings from our weekly Torah portion that can help guide us today.
This week: Courage and COVID
What does courage look like in our time of COVID? All our past templates are broken.
If we rush in to say, “Whatever will be will be” we imperil others. Keeping ourselves out of the virus’s path is actually its own act of courage. Yet it doesn’t always feel courageous. Getting a vaccine takes courage, but waiting for your turn takes courage too.
At the time of the Exodus, the courage move was clear – leave Egypt to head into the unknown, cross the splitting sea.
But this week’s Torah portion, Mishpatim, gives us a more textured frame. Our people move from the courage of bold and obvious moves to the more messy and complex courage required for everyday living.
Join us ON Thursday morning, February 11th, as we explore what our ancestors’ path toward a new kind of courage might mean for us today.
