DESCRIPTION:Candle Assembly – Thursday\, March 12 // 4pm – 8pm in Adelson Hall\nOn Yom HaShoah we remember the individuals\, families\, communities and institutions destroyed during the Holocaust along with the lessons learned so that it never happens again. Join our Religious School students and the Temple Emanuel Brotherhood as we assemble the Yom HaShoah yellow candles to be lit on April 13. This meaningful experience is a way to remember\, reflect\, and make a difference. \nPizza will be served! \nCandle Pick-up for Delivery – Leventhal Sidman Community Court\nTo underscore the importance of lighting these candles on Yom HaShoah\, the Brotherhood will be coordinating the hand delivery of them by April 12th in time for Yom HaShoah. Anyone is welcome and encouraged to volunteer. It’s a rewarding experience for the whole family and a great opportunity for community service! \nSign up HERE to help us deliver candles to TE members who live in our community. We need more than 100 volunteers to ensure every local TE family is reached. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the city we love! \nAll are welcome! \nRegister→ \nAbout Mayor Marc Laredo \nMarc grew up in Newton and returned here with his wife Roberta to raise their family. A Temple Emanuel member and attorney\, Marc was elected Mayor in November 2025 after more than two decades of local public service\, including serving as Chair of the School Committee and President of the City Council. Early in his legal career\, he served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Criminal Bureau of the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office and was a co-founder and managing parter of a Boston-based law firm before becoming Mayor on January 1\, 2026. As Mayor\, his priorities are supporting our public schools and excellent customer service.
