DESCRIPTION:Help support a gathering of local foster families who meet monthly for discussions (and snacks!)\, with supervised kids’ activities in an nearby room. Martha Hausman\, The 2N Family Support Specialist (FSS) facilitates these informal meetings with each parent taking a turn to share what’s happening in their lives\, and everyone offering their wisdom. The Cohort soon becomes its own little community. \nVolunteers will: \n\nSign people in\nHelp kids get snacks\nShow adults and kids the rooms we will meet in\nSupervise/play with kids while their adults meet\n\nSign-up to volunteer HERE→ \nContact Martha with any questions!

Between courses\, Stavans will talk about his own experiences and how the mingling of Jewish and Spanish influences has created a unique culture and cuisine. Cantor Rosemberg will perform songs and talk about the distinct musical culture created by Jews in Latin America. This promises to be an evening not to be missed! Appetizers\, drinks\, dinner and dessert will be served!  \nCopies of Ilan Stavans’ cookbook Sabor Judio: The Jewish Mexican Cookbook will be available for purchase at the event\, or pre-order on the registration page. SUMMARY:Hadar Boston Regional Shabbaton
DESCRIPTION:Spend the weekend with Hadar Faculty and friends from across the Greater Boston area deep in learning Jewish texts\, soul-stirring davening\, delicious food and more. \nAs we get ready for Purim\, we’ll spend Shabbat exploring the idea of Hester Panim: Divine Hiddenness and Absence through Torah\, through song and through prayer.  We will delve into the complexities of experiencing divine hiddenness\, from biblical narratives to the mystical and philosophical approaches of Jewish thought. Together\, we will explore how moments of perceived absence or silence in our lives can become occasions for profound insight\, growth\, and spiritual discovery. \nThe shabbaton will include uplifting prayer\, meals\, communal song opportunities and incredible classes with Hadar faculty. You can register for part or all of this special weekend. Note: Saturday’s Talmud Class\, Shabbat Morning Service\, and Lunch n’ Learn are FREE for all Temple Emanuel members and DO NOT require registration. To take part in the other sessions\, you can register for the full shabbaton here or register here to join us for Saturday night and Sunday. \nChildren’s programming and babysitting will be provided on Saturday morning during services and the Lunch n’ Learn.  Families with children grades 3-7 are invited to join us for a Family Beit Midrash on Shabbat afternoon. \nHome hospitality is available via request on the registration form. DESCRIPTION:For over fifty years\, the Contemporary service on the second day of Rosh HaShanah has been a beloved Temple Emanuel experience. Every year we hear some version of\, “That was great! Can we do that more often?” This year\, the answer is an enthusiastic\, “Yes!” \nJoin us on Shabbat mornings February 15\, March 15 and April 12 in the Rabbi Samuel Chiel Sanctuary as we extend the joyful energy of the Contemporary Service to Shabbat. We’ll start at 10am with Torah service and then build to an hour of sacred song that will speak straight to your soul\, followed by an inspirational sermon and uplifting concluding prayers.
