MOST Immersion Program: Shalom Hartman Institute

What: Participants at the Hartman Institute’s Community Leadership Program Summer Retreat study important questions facing Jews in the modern age with other members of the Temple Emanuel community (including Rabbi Michelle Robinson). The teaching is led by world class Hartman scholars. The participants also take short trips to sites in and around Jerusalem with other Temple Emanuel Hartman travelers.

Where: Jerusalem, Israel

When: One Week: June 24 – July 1, 2020

Cost: The discounted group rate for tuition is $1,800.

Meals: Most meals are provided at the hotel and at the Hartman Institute. Meals are kosher.

Accommodations: Participants stay at one of two hotels in Jerusalem (with discounted rates) or arrange their own private accommodations in Jerusalem.

Transportation: No transportation within Jerusalem is needed to attend programming.

Costs covered by the MOST program: Tuition is covered. The costs of airfare to Israel and accommodations in Israel are not covered.

Application process: Sign up at Temple Emanuel.

Suggested Background: The program includes participants from North America and abroad. People with little or no background in Hebrew or Jewish text study are encouraged to attend.

Shabbat: The participants from Temple Emanuel celebrate a beautiful and inspiring Shabbat in Jerusalem.

Faculty: The faculty is composed of renowned Hartman scholars, including Donniel Hartman and Micah Goodman and several Hartman fellows.
