Let My People Sing – Passover 5773
It is the highlight of our Seders. We wait for it with great expectation. The most adorable moment: the Ma Nishtana. Our children perform and sing. We kvell.
But what if there were more than one moment? What if your Seders were jam-packed with moments of song and joy and the participants were not just the children but each and every person around the table? This year, we say – LET OUR PEOPLE SING! All our people!
We are proud to present to you a compilation of music for your Seders from around the world. This is not just a CD for you to listen to and enjoy (although we hope you will do both). This is a CD for you to use to create a rousing, joyous, and engaging Seder experience for your family and friends.
We are deeply grateful to our Hazzan, Elias Rosemberg, who, with his eye on variety, inclusiveness, and engagement, has brought together over 60 participants to make this CD of world-music sing. You will find here new music and old, familiar and surprising, something for every age and every stage.
One of the final steps of the Seder is to sing Hallel together. This year, may we truly embody its words, “V’nomar L’fanav Shira Chadasha” “Let us sing before God a new song!”
Chag Sameach!
