Joan was born and raised in Waltham moving to Newton in 1964 with her Husband when he opened his Veterinary Hospital, where he lovingly treated so many household pets over the next 46 years. Together they raised three sons and bred Golden Retrievers, keeping two and adopting a few more along the way, all of which made for a very lively household. When their youngest started school, Joan re-entered the work force and has worked in the Jewish world for nearly her entire career. Working in the Jewish world is not just a vocation for her, it is a way of life that has given her the opportunity to continue her Jewish learning with some of the most amazing scholars.

In her free time, Joan is happiest spending time with her kids and grandkids.
