A Temple Emanuel member and attorney\, Marc was elected Mayor in November 2025 after more than two decades of local public service\, including serving as Chair of the School Committee and President of the City Council. Early in his legal career\, he served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Criminal Bureau of the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office and was a co-founder and managing parter of a Boston-based law firm before becoming Mayor on January 1\, 2026. As Mayor\, his priorities are supporting our public schools and excellent customer service.

Join our Religious School students and the Temple Emanuel Brotherhood as we assemble the Yom HaShoah yellow candles to be lit on April 13. This meaningful experience is a way to remember\, reflect\, and make a difference. \nPizza will be served! \nCandle Pick-up for Delivery – Leventhal Sidman Community Court\nTo underscore the importance of lighting these candles on Yom HaShoah\, the Brotherhood will be coordinating the hand delivery of them by April 12th in time for Yom HaShoah. Anyone is welcome and encouraged to volunteer. It’s a rewarding experience for the whole family and a great opportunity for community service! \nSign up HERE to help us deliver candles to TE members who live in our community. Walk-ins welcome! \nJoin us in-person or via livestream! \nRegister→ \nRabbi Mishael Zion comes from a Haggadah-filled home: he is co-author of A Night to Remember: The Haggadah of Contemporary Voices (2007) and The Israeli Haggadah (2024)\, together with his father Noam Zion\, who is the author of A Different Night: The Family Participation Haggadah (Hartman\, 1997). Mishael was ordained by Yeshivat Chovevei Torah in New York\, has served as co-Director and rabbi of the Bronfman Fellowships\, and founded the Mandel Program for Leadership in Jewish Culture for Israeli Arts\, Culture and Media leaders. He is also leader of the Klausner Minyan in Talpiot\, Jerusalem\, the neighborhood he was born in and in where his wife Elana\, and their four daughters\, live.
