About Mayor Marc Laredo
Marc grew up in Newton and returned here with his wife Roberta to raise their family. A Temple Emanuel member and attorney, Marc was elected Mayor in November 2025 after more than two decades of local public service, including serving as Chair of the School Committee and President of the City Council. Early in his legal career, he served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Criminal Bureau of the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office and was a co-founder and managing parter of a Boston-based law firm before becoming Mayor on January 1, 2026. As Mayor, his priorities are supporting our public schools and excellent customer service.
