Shmora Matzah

Since October 7th, the residents of Shlomit, a community in what is known as the “Gaza Envelope” area of Southern Israel, were evacuated from their homes, only returning just a few weeks ago in mid-March. Due to the war and dislocation, the Matzah Factory the community runs was in danger of shutting down. But, even before families could return, volunteers came back to the factory to combine wheat from their fields with water from Jerusalem to make Matzah under the strictest of Shmora guidelines for this year’s Passover. The Matzah, named Emunah Matzah for the Hebrew word for faith or trust, is a reflection of faith, commitment to Judaism, and hope in the Land of Israel.

Thanks to a devoted member of the Temple Emanuel community, you can now be a part of the mitzvah of sustaining their community and ours. Our community will be receiving 300 boxes of special Shmora Matzah from Shlomit’s Matzah Factory. Join the mitzvah of celebrating our freedom with Matzah from the frontlines of Israel’s struggle for survival!

Thank you to all who purchased Shmora Matzah!
