TE Connects: Small Groups is a new initiative that will form small groups within our larger TE community to help us all find meaningful and deeper relationships at Temple Emanuel. Together we will create and nuture a strong sense of belonging and home for all Temple Emanuel members in celebration of the synagogue’s 90th anniversary!
An Intro to Small Groups
Dear Friends:
How does a big, thriving synagogue become my spiritual home?
Answer: Relationships.
How does a synagogue that has services, classes, concerts and events that hum with energy become warm and haimish?
Answer: Relationships.
Do I feel that I belong to Temple Emanuel, that my friends are here, that this is my home, and if so, where does that sense of belonging come from?
Answer: Relationships.
The single most important factor in whether Temple Emanuel is your spiritual home is not the singing, not the praying, not the teaching, not the sermons, not the concerts. It is: Relationships. Do I have good friends here?
Making small groups thrive is our number one priority. So, two simple questions:
Are you in a small group now of 8 to 10 people at your age and stage? People who are going through what you are going through. People who understand the challenges and satisfactions you face in this season of your life? If you are, please let us know the small group (chavurah or TE Connects group) that you are in so that we can track and support every small group.
If you are not in a small group now, please be open to joining one. How would you describe your age and stage in this season of your
