What is TE Cares?
We are a group of Temple Emanuel members who want to build community by supporting members in need. We provide short-term non-financial support including meals, rides, visits, and general help.
Who do we support?
TE Cares supports all Temple Emanuel members who could use a little extra help, whether they are going through a difficult time (like dealing with a medical challenge or struggling emotionally) or a joyful moment (like the birth of a child or general celebration).
What if my need is greater than TE Cares can support?
We want to be a resource not only to connect you to caring members of the Temple Emanuel community, but also to local organizations that can help including JF&CS, Yad Chessed, JVS, Welcome Home, Jewish Big Brothers and Big Sisters, local day schools, and CJP.
What if I’m very busy…should I wait until my schedule clears to sign up to volunteer?
No! Signing up doesn’t obligate you to volunteer, it just means you’ll receive invitations to help. If you think you’d like to help, it’s best to sign up now and then you can evaluate your schedule as requests come in. (And if you sign up and later need to take a step back, we’re happy to help!)
