“Art that sticks” is a new concept created by the Israeli artist Reut Akerman. With her painter’s eye, Reut colleges intricate mosaics from tiny cuttings of Japanese paper into exquisitely beautiful representations of animals and nature. Reut conveys in her artworks words in Hebrew, a Traditional Japanese pattern, mythological symbols, and pop culture images. Each piece takes months to create, and the result is mesmerizing artwork, with which one can enjoy both the details and the whole picture.

Functional pottery including bowls and mugs. All pottery is oven and dishwasher safe.
When I work with pottery, my focus lies in imbuing each piece with captivating movement and color, pushing the boundaries of traditional ceramic art. I strive to find unique and intriguing ways to incorporate dynamic visual elements into my creations. Through careful consideration, I carefully select colors that not only reflect movement but also harmoniously complement one another. By doing so, I create a vibrant tapestry of tones that interact and dance across the surface of the pottery.
For over forty years (Since 1978), Kolbo has been an integral and valued part of the Jewish community in New England; families have come here continuously over the years for important milestones in their lives — a child’s first tallit, their wedding ketubah, and their babies’ first Jewish books. Several of our staff members grew up coming to Kolbo and love the chance to offer the same care and service to the next generations.

Nyora Beads is a registered 501c3 nonprofit organization based in Massachusetts serving the community of Kibera, the largest slum in Africa. Many families in Kibera cannot afford to send their children to school, especially as they get older. While elementary schools tend to be somewhat affordable, high school fees are prohibitively expensive for most families. As a result, a large percentage of children are forced to drop out of school around the age of 13 or 14 years old. Education is crucial in order to fight the cycle of poverty.
Nyora Beads gives full 4-year scholarships to bright, determined, and compassionate children who live in Kibera and cannot afford to attend high school.Every dollar of your purchase goes directly to these scholarship funds.
