Sisterhood

Sisterhood Presidents’ Message

There is no better way to connect with great women than by joining Sisterhood. Our Sisterhood is thriving and we thank the women who came before us for the role they played in making Sisterhood what it is today. We are honored to be part of such a prestigious group.

None of the three of us grew up here at Temple Emanuel … but we have made this our home – for us and for our families. Kim and I found our community here in the Nursery School and then in Sisterhood. Jordana has joined us in making Sisterhood her home too.

According to our Mission Statement, “Sisterhood Temple Emanuel strives to maintain and preserve Jewish heritage by connecting Jewish women of all ages to one another, the synagogue, and the Jewish way of life. We work year-round to create and fund programs and events for the Temple Emanuel community while fostering awareness and activism for the Jewish community at-large.”

But we do so much more than that! We bring women from every generation together to laugh, pray, play, read, knit, comfort and learn. There is a place for every Temple Emanuel woman here in Sisterhood … we are a vibrant and active community.

We strive to build connections…..connections for women who are both members and at times non-members of our shul. We build connections for those who are young to old, married to single, with or without children. We connect women programmatically within the temple and in the greater community. We support each other through good times celebrating simchas together, and we help each other heal.

We are a group of women with so many similar attributes, with many differences as well. However, our common goal is to be a part of a strong community at Temple Emanuel, building relationships from strength to strength.

For those of you already deeply involved, thank you. For those of you thinking about joining us … we welcome you.

Kimberly Creem, Jordana Alford and Mindy Peckler, Sisterhood Presidents

Thank you to our Executive Board and Board of Directors for all that you do!
