One time, in person Dementia Education Evening for The Temple Emanuel Adult Child Support Group. Provided by Adrianna Alpaugh and Emily Chiarelli, Adelaide at Newton Centre.
Dementia Live is a high impact, dementia simulation experience that immerses participants into life with dementia, resulting in deeper understanding of what it’s like to live with cognitive impairment and sensory change. We will live and experience for a few moments what those with dementia feel.
Adrianna Alpaugh attended Boston College and received her Masters of Social Work specializing in older adults and families. She has over 15 years of experience working in a variety of settings with older adults. She is currently the Director of Family and Resident Services at Adelaide of Newton Center, serving older adults that suffer from Alzheimer’s Disease and other forms of dementia. Working with Geriatrics has been a strong passion of hers. Throughout her experience in this field she has been trained as a professional caregiver, worked closely with families and seniors with the transition moving from their home into a community setting. She offers a variety of support groups for families and spouses to coach them through the difficult disease process of dementia.
Emily Chiarelli is an experienced senior living professional overseeing marketing and relationship management for multiple leading senior living providers throughout Massachusetts, providing assisted living and memory care community options for senior care. Passionate about making a meaningful impact and supporting residents and families with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia care options and resources. Certified Dementia Practitioner, NIDE Certified (National Institute of Dementia Education), and Dementia Live Simulation Trainer. Currently the Community Relations Director, at Adelaide of Newton Centre, the only stand-alone Mind& Memory Care assisted living community in Newton, MA.
