Brighter Ignited – Outdoor Interactive Art Display

February 1 @ 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Brighter Ignited is an illuminated and traveling art exhibit designed by artist Tova Speter that actively encourages people to engage, connect, and play. This super-sized interactive light display features illuminated artwork by hundreds of participants who were asked: When there is something you are passionate about, dedicated to, and ready to stand up for — how do you ignite action?

This interactive sculpture was built by Manny Hutter of Herculean Woodworks and was commissioned in 2022 by the Jewish Arts Collaborative.

Religious School students will be interacting with the exhibit during class time, and the whole community is invited to enjoy from 6-7:30!

Featured Artist

Tova Speter is a community artist, art therapist, art educator, and arts consultant based in Massachusetts. She facilitates collaborative art experiences that offer opportunities for self expression, artistic exploration, and community connection. Her focus is often on empowering participants to recognize that they are capable of more than they realized, especially when they come together; and her community art projects include residencies in schools, neighborhoods, and in other countries. In addition to being a practicing painter, installation artist, and community muralist, Tova also has a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and Art Therapy, and over 20 years of experience working at the intersection of arts and healing. All of her work is based on her belief that engaging in art-making is inherently therapeutic and formative and that art helps us connect with each other and with ourselves.
