Required Seminar for B’nei Mitzvah Class of 2024-2025:
Becoming a bat/bar mitzvah is a big change. For children, it requires a new sense of self and personal responsibility. This is a totally new chapter. And for parents, there are shifts too. This seminar is an opportunity to think together about this shift and to help our children join the Jewish conversation as an emerging adult.
In each session, we’ll discuss questions like: What are your Jewish values? How do you prioritize your time? What makes a successful Jewish adult? What are your responsibilities in the world? Additionally, we will work together to design a personalized mitzvah project and to prepare for the special day on the horizon.
Each session will begin with food and an opportunity to get to know the families in your cohort, and then will transition into a meaningful, discussion-based curriculum led by clergy and staff.
